Integra provided design and engineering management support services for the design and construction of the new Royal Woolwich Arsenal Crossrail Station for the principal contractor Berkeley Homes.
The scope of works included the civils package comprising all temporary works, earth works, highway modifications, utility diversions, drainage, de-watering, piling and reinforced concrete.
As the site is on the former munitions factory site at Woolwich, there was a large involvement in the archeological investigation and management of the finds. Furthermore, due to the dewatering activities and the site’s proximity to the river Thames matters of water quality and discharge were key aspects of consent agreement. The design and construction also had to cater for the new Crossrail tunnels being driven towards and through the station.
